Exchange of emails (3/2009) with Robert Erickson, producer, National Geographic special on 9/11

A special on 9/11 has just been shown on the National Geographic Channel, produced by Robert Erickson. Robert also conducted interviews with me and others. In March 2009, Prof. David Ray Griffin and I and Gregg Roberts exchanged emails with Robert Erickson which demonstrate our efforts to get Mr. Erickson and his team to be accurate and fair in their treatment of our scientific work regarding 9/11 – particularly the evidence for the use of explosives in the World Trade Center destruction. For the record, then, I have pulled together our exchanges of emails.

If you watched this you may have been struck by the same thing I was.  No matter what was said by the naysayers or what experiment was done the come-back by the ‘Truthers’ was always the same.  “But, but you don’t understand!  The people who performed these experiments don’t have access to the secret explosives that the government/military have.  They have ‘secret stuff’ that no one else has and that’s how they brought down the WTC!”  Note:  Super-thermite was tossed around freely by the ‘Truthers’.  However near as I can tell such a substance does not exist, but that’s just a niggling little detail.

Yes it was always the same answer from the ‘Truthers’ and they parroted it at every turn.  IMO, they sounded like a gaggle of small children who’ve been told one too many ghost tales around the campfire.

Then we come to the Pentagon.  According to the ‘Truthers’ no airliner hit the Pentagon, because the damage isn’t correct for such an impact.  Of course eyewitness testimony and debris was dismissed as part of the ‘cover up’.

The plane that went down in Western PA wasn’t crashed because of a fight between terrorists and passengers in the cockpit.  No a USAF plane shot the airliner down as part of building this elaborate conspiracy.  No matter that no one saw a USAF plane in that area before the crash.  See everyone who’s an eyewitness to any of these plane crashes and the aftermath are part of the ‘cover up’.  Yep the Fed’s went to NYC, Wahsington D.C., and rual PA and set this all up.  And they set it all up way before 9/11 actually happened.  (BTW these are the same Fed’s who couldn’t catch the ‘Unabomber’ for 17 years.)

Then when it was pointed out that a conspiracy of such scope would have to have involved thousands upon thousands of people that little detail was dismissed as well.  It was either thousands of people could keep this secret if threatened or there were actually only a handful of people involved.

Tis said that you can’t defeat an ignorant person in and argument.  I’ll go further and say, “You can’t defeat screwballs in an argument if said screwballs are bound and determined to believe childish ghost stories.”
