Watch congressional greetings at town hall meetings at home

WASHINGTON – Call it the tea party that never ends.

A rebellion is brewing in home congressional districts of incumbent Democrats evidenced by the reaction at several town hall meetings .  Members are being forced to suspend meetings with their constituents, screaming protesters are being dragged out of events by police and officials are being greeted by protest signs and chants.

Rep. Tim Bishop, D-N.Y., has called off further events.

“I had felt they would be pointless,” he said. “There is no point in meeting with my constituents and [to] listen to them and have them listen to you if what is basically an unruly mob prevents you from having an intelligent conversation.”

In Bishop’s case, his decision came on the heels of a June 22 event he held in Setauket, N.Y., in which protesters dominated the meeting by shouting criticisms at the congressman for his positions on energy policy, health care and the bailout of the auto industry. You can watch that confrontation here.

‘We The People’ have had the full course, we’ve been lied to, called all sort of names, and dismissed as ‘trouble makers’.  This is the sort of behavior by the powerful elite that in 1775-76 led to the American Revolution.

When those who are suppose to represent their constituents retreat into their inner sanctums and refuse to confront the results of their ill informed and/or corrupt decisions its time for wholesale change.  The politicians who hold office do so by the sufferance of those who elected them.  ‘We The People’ are despite what politicians may think in charge and we can prove that at the ballot box in 2010.  I call for all politicians who are up for re-election in 2010 to be tossed from office, as a statement by ‘We The People’.  Yes toss them all out no matter what they say and no matter how they attempt to ‘buy our votes’!

Some will say that such an action will toss out the good with the bad.  I say if you think there are ‘any good’ politicians in office right now then you’ve been sipping the Koolaide and you’re part of the problem and not part of the solution.  A statement must be made and an example set.

‘We The People’ must prove that we can’t be bought, we can’t be cajoled, and we can’t be intimidated.  The battle will won at the ballot box and not on the battlefield or at least that’s how this round will be won.  It remains to be seen if a battlefield solution will be required in the near future.
