Actually the ‘myth’ of media objectivity and non-biased reporting goes back to before the founding of the American Republic.  Yellow-journalism in the US is a time honored tradition.  Read any major newspaper from any era in American history and you will find not so much ‘facts’ as ‘opinion offered as facts’.  Then with the electronic media the likes of Walter Cronkite began to appear.  Once Cronkite had stated that the ‘war was lost in Vietnam’ Americans actually began to belive that was a ‘fact’ and ‘not an opinion’.  The media in the US has always been the tool of various political agendas.  Right now MSM is firmly in the pocket of the Left, but with falling readership for the papers and less viewership of news on TV that may change in the near future.  The media if they do nothing else will scramble to save the bottom line.

Children Forced to Pledge to Obama

A parent in the Clark County School District of Las Vegas, Henderson area reported January 27th that his son, who is in 1st grade, came home yesterday saying that he didn’t want to go back to school anymore.

When asked why, the boy said that during the Pledge of Allegiance the teacher put up a large image of Obama next to the flag.

Thinking that the boy might be exaggerating, the man asked his son if he was sure, and suggested that by “large” he might mean an 8×10 photo of the president. The boy apparently said “No, it is a large picture of Obama and when we are done, the teacher turns off the image.”

Note: the blogosphere is now saying this is a hoax because the school has not been named or the school district has not confimed it. Instead of seeing this as a situation that was amicably resolved, it is seen as an attack on Obama, which it never was, and an attack on the flag, which it never was. It is not a hoax.

It’s a bit late for a Christmas card look, but I like this.  Picture is taken looking into my oldest daughters back lawn.  She lives about 5 miles from me.  And yes its still snowing here.

FLAT TIRE
 
Yesterday I had a flat tire on the interstate.   So I eased my car over to the shoulder of the road, carefully got out of the car and opened the trunk.
 
I took out 2 cardboard men, unfolded them and stood them at the rear of my car facing oncoming traffic.  They look so lifelike you wouldn’t believe!   They are in trench coats, exposing their nude bodies and private parts to the approaching drivers.
 
I started to change my tire, and to my surprise, cars started slowing downlooking at my lifelike men.  And of course, traffic started backing up.  Everybody was tooting their horns and waving like crazy.  It wasn’t long before a state trooper pulled up behind me.
 
He got out of his car and started walking towards me.  I could tell he was not a happy camper!
 
“What’s going on here?”
 
“My car has a flat tire,” I said calmly.
 
“Well, what are those obscene cardboard men doing here by the road?”
 
I couldn’t believe that he didn’t know.  So I told him, “Hello-o-o-o-o-o, those are my emergency flashers!”

Sorry I’m late today with posting.  Today was shopping day then just as I was posting the power went off.  Then I finally got one of the portable generators started and the power came back on.  I swear if was raining diamonds, I’d get hit with a bucket of bullshit!  Anyway this is it for today, I’ve had the course!
