Will the Real Legislative Branch Please Stand Up?
IMO we could just do away with Congress altogether and have the US Supreme Court legislate from the bench as they are wont to do right now. Yeah I know the office of POTUS has expanded its powers all out of proportion to what they should be, but a POTUS serves at most 8 years. The old crows on the US Supreme Court serve for life and that could mean 40 or more years on the bench. And remember there really is no oversight of the USSC. What they say is law and that’s that, as it takes a Constitutional amendment to overrule them and there is fat chance of that.

The problem is the ‘nanny state’ and the idea that the ‘state’ is some how responsible for taking care of ‘problem children’ that should be addressed by the children’s parents. Any time the ‘nanny state’ assumes parental duties you have the recipe for disaster in place.
