There always seems to be lot’s of money for bike trails, walking trails, bridal paths, and nature walks, but never any money for bridges or highway upgrading. Gee I wonder why that is?

Oh I forgot ‘illegal aliens’ can do as they damn well please in the US. It’s US citizens who can’t do anything to an ‘illegal alien’! (And like I said if the ‘illegal alien’ had stayed where he belonged none of this would have happened, but since it did happen I say we mark it down to ‘collateral damage’ and move on)

I am sick of:
1. Hearing that the United States is only 4% of the population but we use 25% of the energy worldwide.
So what? We also provide most of the biotechnology in the world. We feed the world when they’re starving. We are the most generous and benevolent country on the face of God’s green earth, and we deserve thanks and respect for that. Basically, you energy whiners who feel so much guilt about the prosperity of the USA need to get real and take a chill pill. Get over it. Admit that the USA is the greatest nation on the history of planet earth and just accept this greatness.
2. Hearing anything or reading anything about the so-called “experts” about energy policy like Susan Sarandon, Algore, Brad Pitt, and Alec Baldwin.
These people are not scientists, and their views aren’t based on sound science. They are Hollywood whiners along with one wanna-be ex-vice president who flunked out of divinity school. They are not experts at anything. Just because you play some role in a movie or on television doesn’t make you an expert at anything. These people are simply the star power behind the Hollywood left and its agenda of radical environmentalism. They are no more energy experts than I am an orthopedic surgeon.
3. Hearing about “hope” and “change” when referring to Barack Hussein Obama.
When his supporters are asked about this supposed “hope” and “change” they respond with flowery vagueness that Obama is the agent of greatness and that the power of his tremendous personality can turn people from being mean, greedy cynical Republicans into kind, loving socialist Democrats. What has this man ever done from the standpoint of significant accomplishments in his entire life? What is a community organizer? Didn’t Jesse Jackson spend his entire life being one of these people? It sounds to me like an agitator. It sounds to me as if the only “change” I’ll get is a little change in my pocket because Obama’s tax increases on energy and my way of life will leave me nothing but change. What a joke.
The author goes on to list 7 things he’s ‘sick and tired of’. IMO, 7 things isn’t even a good start, as I could begin to list things I’m ‘sick and tired of’ now @ 2:30 EST on Thursday 07/31/08 and still be adding to list in mid-August.

Seattle police said they were still looking today for one of a group of Critical Mass bicyclists who attacked and injured a driver during a violent altercation on Capitol Hill Friday evening.
Two other bicyclists have been jailed. But some riders in the event have said the driver was the aggressor.
Just after 7 p.m. Friday, the group of at least 100 bicyclists was moving en masse down East Aloha Street when a man and his girlfriend in a Subaru station wagon tried to pull out of a parking spot, said Seattle police spokesman Mark Jamieson.
For years, Critical Mass has held monthly public bike rides through Seattle to demonstrate for bicyclists’ road rights.
According to Jamieson, as the Critical Mass group moved down the street, blocking traffic, some riders got in the way of the Subaru and prevented it from leaving. Some bikers sat on the car and were banging on it, he said.
“The driver was pretty fearful that he was about to be assaulted by the bicyclists,” Jamieson said.
The man tried to back up, but bumped into a biker. “This enraged the group,” Jamieson said.
Several of the bikers bashed up the Subaru, shattering the windshield and rear window, Jamieson said.

Polar Ice Check – Still a lot of ice up there

During our last check in, we had a look at northern Canada from the Arctic Circle to the North pole, and found we had quite a ways to go before we see an “ice free arctic” this year as some have speculated.
Today I did a check of the NASA rapidfire site for TERRA/MODIS satellite images and grabbed a view showing northern Greenland all the way to the North Pole.
There’s some bergy bits on the northeastern shore of Greenland, but in the cloud free area extending all the way to the pole, it appears to still be solid ice.

As for the polar icecap melting if you check with several of the Discovery channels you’ll see they have it as an ‘established fact’. You see the ‘squeaky wheel’ always gets the grease and so far the ‘global warming moon-bats’ are doing all the squeaking. You’d think they had a ‘money dog’ in this hunt. Hmmmm!

Then it took over 50 years to prove Communism would not work. Then the Socialists said that Socialism, a kinder and gentler form of Communism was actually the way to go. Socialism in Europe has proven a burden on citizens and its whole concept is flawed. The US began flirting with Socialism under FDR and now seems hellbent for leather on instituting something we now call ‘Nanny-state-ism’. That’s the one where the state does all the thinking for its citizens and calls all the shots. Well you can all it what you like, but Socialism, ‘Nanny-state-ism’ are only thinly disguised Communism. The only thing that ever changes is the packaging, as the product remains the same. So yes the whole world keeps doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results.

ScienceDaily (July 29, 2008) — A snapshot of New Zealand’s climate 40 million years ago reveals a greenhouse Earth, with warmer seas and little or no ice in Antarctica, according to research recently published in the journal Geology.
The study suggests that Antarctica at that time was yet to develop extensive ice sheets. Back then, New Zealand was about 1100 km further south, at the same latitude as the southern tip of South America – so was closer to Antarctica – but the researchers found that the water temperature was 23-25°C at the sea surface and 11-13°C at the bottom.
“This is too warm to be the Antarctic water we know today,” said Dr Catherine (Cat) Burgess from Cardiff University and lead-author of the paper. “And the seawater chemistry shows there was little or no ice on the planet.”
I understand that right after this ‘snapshot’ was taken the early ancestors of Al Gore (Slugs, worms, and other vermin) decided to make the world safe for ice by instituting a strict policy of no carbon emissions whatsoever. So not only do we have the the Internet to thank the Gore’s for, but ice as well.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – The Los Angeles City Council has approved a one-year moratorium on new fast-food restaurants in a low-income area of the city.
The moratorium unanimously approved Tuesday is a bid to attract restaurants that offer healthier food choices to residents in a 32-square-mile area of South Los Angeles.
God forbid that these poor, mostly non-white folks be allowed to make their own eating decisions.
I was wondering when the poor and downtrodden would be dragged out in protest of what is after all clearly another fine example of government sticking their long acne infected noses into something that is clearly none of there business. Didn’t take long did it?
