Nobel Prize Winner Dr. Stephen Schneider Hails Tribal Snow Contributions: ‘Whatever Works, Go For It!’

Quote: PALO ALTO, Calif., June 29 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — ‘I think it is wonderful that ski areas have been inviting the tribes back to ski and snowboard, which inspired them this winter to share their earth-honoring prayers and snowdances for all U.S. Ski Areas. It would be wise to further explore and expand such cross-fertilization,’ said Stanford Climatologist Dr. Stephen Schneider, 2007 Nobel Peace Prize Winner as part of the Intergovernmental Panel for Change Climate (IPCC) team, who has been working with the Native Voices Foundation.

You ever notice that 99.9999% of Nobel Prize winners are like blind cats at the fish mongers?  They can smell the fish, but they can never find it.

AP-Yahoo News poll: 9 in 10 hit hard by gas prices   Oil is making millionaires in North Dakota

And the 10th person is a millionaire/billionaire who is making a killing off of high gas prices.  See 2nd headline above.

Real Independence Means Secure Borders

The powers that be don’t want real independence!  They want cheap labor, illegal voters, and open borders so they can carry on with their looting of this nation.

Life After Kelo: Looking Back and Forward

Yes the lack-wits on the USSC confirmed in Kelo vs. New London that there is no such thing in the USA as private ownership of land or housing if any form of government wants to steal it from you.

Liberals and Guns: Hysteria, but Not Much Reasoning

Liberals aren’t stupid, evil yes, but not stupid.  Liberals know you can’t browbeat/cower an armed man into anything.  And until the American public is disarmed Liberals won’t be able to browbeat/cower American citizens into submission.  Liberals are ‘control freaks’ and its drives them wild that they don’t have complete control over American citizens, yet.  I know what I’m talking about because I’m a ‘control freak’,  (My way or the highway) but I just happen to not be a Liberal.

‘The original human nature was not like the present’

Slip this one into the ‘Ya can’t make this silly $hit up,’ category.

SHOWDOWN: Feds probe San Francisco immigrant policy…

Probe huh?  Well those who run the ‘City of Perverts by The Bay’ should like that.

Ahmadinejad target of ‘X-ray plot’,…

Yes the plot was to us X-rays to turn him into a ‘Drag Queen’.  The plot however fell through when it was discovered he already was a ‘Drag Queen’.

Critics Fear Collider Could Doom Earth

No way this can happen!  We’d never get that lucky.

Queen of Hawaii demands independence from ‘US occupiers’

Repeal the 2nd Amendment

June 30th, 2008 . by Basti

Repeal the 2nd Amendment

No, we don’t suppose that’s going to happen any time soon. But it should.

The 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is evidence that, while the founding fathers were brilliant men, they could have used an editor.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

If the founders had limited themselves to the final 14 words, the amendment would have been an unambiguous declaration of the right to possess firearms. But they didn’t, and it isn’t. The amendment was intended to protect the authority of the states to organize militias. The inartful wording has left the amendment open to public debate for more than 200 years. But in its last major decision on gun rights, in 1939, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously found that that was the correct interpretation.

SNIP

Repeal the 2nd Amendment? Yes, it’s an anachronism.

We won’t repeal the amendment, but at least we can have that debate.

Want to debate whether crime-staggered cities should prohibit the possession of handguns? The Supreme Court has just said, “forget about it.”

Red highlights are mine.  See I told you last week that the ‘gun grabbers’ won’t be satisfied until the American public is disarmed and only the thugs are armed.  The ‘usual suspects’ have skirted the issue of repealing the 2nd Amendment for years because they know that’s not going to happen.  So in typical ‘Liberal fashion’ they have gone to court and have been busy attempting to restrict American freedom by judicial fiat.  The fight isn’t over and as soon as the “Liberals/Socialists/Progressives/Commies get a majority on the USSC the 2nd Amendment will get trashed along with most of the rest of the ‘Bill of Rights’.

WALKING AND BEER:

June 30th, 2008 . by Basti

WALKING AND BEER:
A recent study found the average American walks about 900 miles per year.

Another study found Americans drink, on average, 22 gallons of beer a year.

That means, on average, Americans get about 41 miles to the gallon.

Kind of makes you proud to be an American.

Obama: Front Man

Quote with my strike-through:  The people of the United States are poised to elect a question mark, a figment of the media’s imagination, and an idea sparked by the Democratic Party to put a straw man in front of the electorate disguised as the second coming of FDR  Jesus Christ.

Beyond Guns: The Deeper Meaning of the Heller Case

Quote:  Here are some of the charges leveled by the Dissents against the Opinion: From Stevens, the Opinion lacks “respect for the well-settled views of all of our predecessors on the court, and for the rule of law itself.”  From Breyer, “The majority derides my approach as ‘judge-empowering….’  I take this criticism seriously, but I do not think it accurate.”

And that is exactly what the USSC has been engaged in since its inception ‘judge-empowering’.  It’s not whether the US Constitution is being raped or whether its what the citizens of the US want its about the USSC ruling the nation through a secession of decrees.  The US Government is supposed to be made up of the three branches of government executive, legislative, and judicial.  It’s all suppose to run on a delicate balance of power between the three branches.  From the very birth of the USSC the judges on that court have taken the position they they are the final arbitrators of the law of the land in the USA.  It is not suppose to be that way and we ignore at our own peril the end results of doing so.

Animal rights group turns its fire on celebrity meat-eaters…

While I despise those who abuse dogs, cats, horses, etc I have no time nor patience for the crackpot ‘activists’ of any stripe.  Humans happen to be the top predator in the ‘food chain’ and its our right to eat what ever animals we like.  Does anyone suppose that if meat eating dinos were still around they would have any compunction about chowing down on humans?

A-CHOO, COUGH COUGH: OLYMPICS SMOG ALERT; GAMES A MONTH AWAY…

If this useless thing known as the ’2008 Olympics’ were being held in NYC, London, Berlin, or Paris and the conditions in one of those cities were the same as they are today in Beijing the resulting firestorm of criticism from the world-wide collection of crackpot activists would be never ending.  As it is hardly a peep is being heard from the ‘usual suspects’.  I find that an extremely insightful fact.

The Case for English Only

The Case for English Only

Quote:  Enough already!  How many languages should we be expected to speak in America?  And how many languages should our government and other institutions, such as hospitals and schools, be required to accommodate?  The problem is not just Spanish speakers.  It’s the more than 320 other tongues that are spoken in America today.

EU Parliamentarians Scurry Like Rats [dri]

EU Parliamentarians Scurry Like Rats [dri]

This video is via Instapundit, Samizdata, and EUreferendum. It depicts various EU parliamentarians showing up for work at 7am on Friday morning, luggage in tow, with the intent of signing in and immediately leaving to enjoy their weekends at taxpayer expense. So many of the smarmy Euro elites show up to scam the system that it is obvious that the practice has become an institutionalized practice.
The best part of the video is the Green Party Member of Parliament who upon seeing the camera focused on her, scurries like a rat towards the elevator only to walk straight into a wall.
Apparently the European parliamentarians are not so high and mighty after all. Sadly politicians are scumbags no matter where they reside.

On ‘Greenism’

June 29th, 2008 . by Basti

“When people get all puffed up about their ‘Greenism’, it all takes on the trapping of a religion/cult.  I have no sympathy or indulgence for beliefs or practices from judgmental Zealots and fundamentalists of any stripe, whether it be Christian, Muslim, Jewish, or Environmentalists. Call it a flaw of human nature, but some people just need to feel like they’re better than others  (Call it Eco snobbery if you will) and that they are among the ’elite’ , ‘the elect’ and/or ’the vetted ones’. That’s precisely what ‘Greenism’ is, and I’ll have no part of no matter how they attempt to cram it down my throat.”

Today’s Tidbits

June 28th, 2008 . by Basti

A Florida man died Tuesday  after taking more than two dozen shots of cherry vodka within a half hour, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office.

In my ‘salad days’ as it were two dozen shots of an liquor would only have been a ‘start’.  In those days I’d start with 25/30 beers and as the evening wore on I’d switch to ‘boilermakers’.  A boilermaker is a double whiskey poured into a a short glass of beer.  It was considered nothing of note with the group I drank with to consume a fifth of liquor within an hour if we were playing a drinking game.  (I always won the drinking games)  And here’s the kicker, I always drove home and in those days I had autos/trucks with standard shifts.

“WALL-E”: Anti-Consumer, Enviro Propaganda?

From the review:  Earthlings created too much stuff. We literally trashed the planet and killed off the environment that sustains us. The Buy-N-Large corporation offers what it believes to be the ideal solution: escape to space in large ships until the robots clean up the mess back home.

Seven hundred years later, the planet is still vacant of human life.

Never heard of this movie and don’t want to see it.  However while I’m on a roll with the Eco-wackos, has anyone seen the new ‘Green Network’ on TV.  It’s a Discovery Channel that used to feature good tips on renovating your home and other interesting building tips.  Now its the home of the ‘Green Wackos’.   (BTW planet earth isn’t green when see from space, its blue and white) Now they feature stuff about how to save the planet by making your home more ‘Eco-Friendly’ and how not to leave such a ‘large carbon footprint’.

Here’s how I look at all this.  Most of us are going to live between 70 and 85 years and most of us will die and not be remembered for more than one generation afterward.  So I’m going to leave a as big a ‘carbon footprint’ as possible because that’s all I’ve really have to mark the fact that I was ever here.

Supreme Court rulings won’t end lawsuits

Of course it won’t.  The only thing that would end the lawsuits is killing all the lawyers and killing them tonight.  (I wish I could take credit for that last, but Bill Shakespeare beat me to it by several centuries)

Superintendent: Bad tenured teachers hard to fire

How about this.  We stop giving tenure to any teacher and make teachers keep their jobs on performance evaluations.  Or we could just fire bad tenured teachers  and ignore all the lawsuits.

San Francisco gay pride parade has new meaning

No it still means the same thing.  A bunch of scummy perverts waltzing around shouting to the world.  “LOOK AT ME!  I’M A SCUMMY PERVERT!”

Book Review: “The Politically Incorrect Guide to Western Civilization”

Qutake:  Esolen’s book should be read with one I recently reviewed on this site, Benjamin Wiker’s “10 Books That Screwed Up the World” (http://www.huntingtonnews.net/columns/080521-kinchen-columnsbookreview.html) since many of the thinkers and writers deemed harmful to Western values are mentioned in both books.

Why is it only those of us in the West must be politically correct while some camel-humper in the ‘Great Cat Box’ can scream, “KILL ALL THE INFIDELS,” and that’s OK?

California to drivers: Drop the cell phone, dude…   Tickets soar for cell-phone talkers…

Lest anyone think this is about public safety check out the 2nd headline.  As always its about the almighty $$$$$$$$$$$$ and how to fleece more of them from the pockets of the public.

Madonna: I want a divorce…

Women who have been rode hard and put away wet as many times as Madonna has should be careful what they ask for, they could get it.
