Honestly, Is This the Best We Can Do? No it isn’t the best we can do by a long shot. There are men and women out there who are honest, hardworking, and make fine leaders. The problem is the ‘system’ because with the ‘system’ we have in place if filled with spin doctors, ad people, lobbies, and others to be named at a later date an honest hard working person would not long remain so once thrust into the feces choked river of politics. Look at a map of the US.
The future political map of America is likely to look a lot different, with much of the so-called “red” state region either gone or depopulated.
The area that will by completely inundated by the rising ocean—and not in a century but in the lifetime of my two cats—are the American southeast, including the most populated area of Texas, almost all of Florida, most of Louisiana, and half of Alabama and Mississippi, as well as goodly portions of eastern Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. While the northeast will also see some coastal flooding, its geography is such that that aside from a few projecting sandbars like Long Island and Cape Cod, the land rises fairly quickly to well above sea level. Sure, Boston, New York and Philadelphia will be threatened, but these are geographically confined areas that could lend themselves to protection by Dutch-style dikes. The West Coast too tends to rise rapidly to well above sea level in most places. Only down in Southern California towards the San Diego area is the ground closer to sea level.

Will Islamic Radicals Self-destruct?

It’s about time that we recognize that ”war on terror” is a war against Islam, at least the way the Koran asks Muslims to follow the ”revelations” to Mohammad in the form of Islamic radicalism.
Muslim religious radicalism has always been around. Islam was created from an aggressive movement that used violence and terror to grow from the Atlantic to Western Asia within 100 years of Mohammad’s death. Past periods of Muslim conquest are still regarded fondly by Muslims; after all, on three occasions Islam almost conquered all of Europe.
The current expression of violence in the name of Allah has been building for many years. In earlier periods, Islamic radicalism flared up from time to time in response to religious zeal or corrupt governments as an attempt to impose a religious solution on some social or political problem. The current Islamic terror is international because of the availability of mass media to supply bold headlines and the fact that the Islamic world is replete with theocratic dictatorships that cause economic backwardness. Islamic radicalism itself has no military power and relies on terrorism, fear, and appeasement to gain attention and succeed.
As the news reports show, most of the victims of Islamic militancy are other Muslims. For this reason radicals eventually become unpopular among their own people and, hopefully, will run out of new recruits. If you think about it, the American invasion of Iraq was a clever exploitation of this phenomenon by forcing the Islamic radicals to fight in Iraq where they killed many Muslims, especially women and children, thus causing the Islamic radicals, such as al Qaeda, to lose their popularity among Muslims in general.
In the past, the West did not get involved in Islamic religious wars unless attacked as they were three times before over the last 1,500 years, and on September 11. Unfortunately, politically correct sensibilities make it even more difficult to confront Islamic radicalism head on. For example, fighting back is considered by Muslims and appeasers as culturally insensitive (i.e., a “war on Islam”), another ”Crusade” if you will, and many in the Western media have accepted this incredible interpretation of reality.
Some historians have pointed out that the medieval Crusades were a series of wars fought in response to Islamic violence against Christians, not as the opening act of aggression against Islam. In this respect the current war on terror is in the tradition of the Crusades.
As this article points out Islamic extremists/terrorists have been with us since the blood-thirsty cult of Islam was founded. This is unlikely to ever change.
In addition the article also points out the ‘fightings Islam’ or the use of the horrid word ‘Crusade’ has now been banned from the media and government. This is of course is absurd on the face of it as anyone with one brain cell left on active duty knows.
There is one solution to this entire problem. A ground swell of angry American’s writing/e-mailing their ‘Congress Critters’ demanding that the ‘politically correct kid gloves’ be taken off and the real issues of the dangers ‘that all of Islam’ poses be exposed and addressed. Angry Americans are the only force that government and media seem to understand. Islam like so many things these days can’t be allowed a ‘free pass’ just because those who believe in a false cult and those who support anything that weakens America can have their way.
